Please get in touch if there is anything I can do to improve M is for make, I would love to hear from you. If you have a query about a product, would like more information or some advice, please send me an email or get in touch through the website.
M is for make is an online shop only and I'm afraid that it is not possible to visit and view the fabrics.
At M is for make I specialise in fabrics for quilting and dressmaking. I do stock some fabrics that can be used for curtains, bags or home decor, they can be found here. However I don't usually have the larger quantities of fabric required to make curtains.
You can see the type of each product on the product page under 'weight' and also shop by different weights and uses of fabric here.
It is possible to use quilting cottons for dressmaking but they do not have the drape of a fabric specifically for making clothes and so will not hang as well and tend to crease more easily.
They can work for a more structured garment or if you really like a print and are prepared to compromise on drape.
Lots of fabric at M is for make is specifically for dressmaking, you can find it here. A fat quarter or 0.25m is just the increment that I sell fabrics by, if you want more it will always be a continuous length.
You can read all about fat quarters here.
M is for make is a VAT-registered business (reg number 206427136). For customers from the UK, EU and EEA, prices include a 20% VAT element.
Order confirmations do not constitute a VAT invoice, if you would like one, please send an email.
For customers outside of the EU and EEA, the VAT element of the price will be refunded by M is for make after posting your order. In the event that the automatic postage rules undercharged your order's actual postage costs by more than one GBP, the difference will be taken from the VAT-recoverable figure before the balance is refunded.
Most of the fabric is 44in wide/112cm, but there is also some fabric that measures wider.
The width of the fabric is shown on each product page
I'm afraid that at the moment, I am unable to offer sample

Always prewash all fabric before using to avoid shrinkage on a completed sewing project. Cottons and linens are machine washable in cold water (30° or less) preferably using non-biological washing liquid. Drying fabrics in a tumble drier is not recommended.
Fabric at M is for make should not be used for children's nightwear as it does not conform to flammability standards.
I'm afraid that at the moment I do not offer gift vouchers.
